Society for Psychotherapy Research International Annual Conference Meeting
June 25 - June 28, 2025

We will report on the development of an Intelligent agent for mental health assessment interviews. Specifically, we will train a large language moswl (LLM) to conduct the depression and anxiety semi structured interview in real time, with a human interviewer on standby. We will report on the initial findings of a four armed stratified randomized study designed to support the clinical validation of an AI-based tool to assess the clinical severity of depression and anxiety. This study will remotely assess 120 participants in the U.S. for depression and anxiety severity, and will compare the signals collected during clinical assessments conducted by human interviewers and an AI agent ("AI Interviewer")

The Workshop on Computational Linguistics and Clinical Psychology

CLPsych has brought together researchers in computational linguistics and NLP, who use computational methods to better understand human language, infer meaning and intention, and predict individuals’ characteristics and potential behavior, with mental health practitioners and researchers, who are focused on psychopathology and neurological health and engage directly with the needs of providers and their patients. This workshop’s distinctly interdisciplinary nature has improved the exchange of knowledge, fostered collaboration, and increased the visibility of mental health as a problem domain in NLP

Participated as an invited discussant at XJTLU’s International Women’s Day 2025 panel, an event aimed at promoting gender equity and highlighting the professional achievements of women across sectors.
